Wear Me Out 04:02
Try me out I’ll be good Wrap your arms around I’ll be good Strong in the night, I will come Bearing all to find the one It’s not too late I can see in your eyes Taking you by surprise Your muscles ache The temperatures rising Pulsing bodies sweat Feel the rhythm, it’s rising Making you forget Wear me out I’ll be good Wrap your arms around I’ll be good Wear me out I’ll be good
2.
I have a reason for you to be alone You wait desperately by the phone Stuck on what we haven’t done No you can’t even play for fun Now you’re alone I see the pain in your eyes Maybe this family tree isn’t cleverly disguised I see you tumbling down I feel you tumbling down We used to walk on egg shells and lie And tell how everything is fine Stuck on what is to be done No we can’t even play for fun Now you’re alone I feel you tumbling down I see you tumbling down The hillside on the way to us I feel you tumbling down The hillside on the way to us
3.
Brave 04:20
You think you can save this with your tears Forsaking all the pain inside We’ll make up and then we’ll fade awayWe’ll make up and then we’ll fade away You’ll make it up, I’ll take it the wrong way And maybe I’ll deserve the time waiting I see you’re wild, out with the crowd I see her on your neck You make a great asshole You want to roll Now you’re a star and your wondering Why I don’t wait around But I’ll make it on my own Now that you’re erased I’ll make it on my own Now I’m brave Now I’m brave

about

Best described as Trip Electro Indie Rock, Wear Me Out highlights the best of where Down The Lees has gone, and back again. Recorded at Off White House Studios by LL Schultz with drums recorded by Rick Welin at Clark Drive Studios, the 3 song EP amalgamates the searing sounds of wailing guitars and pulsating electronic beats that speak loudly about sex, regret and hope. Beginning with the title track, Wear Me Out, the song breathes life into lust and desire. Temper Mapping touches on regret while the last song, Brave, ends with a triumphant call to be courageous. Clocking in under 13 mins, the EP packs an emotional punch that everyone with a heart can relate to.

As with previous releases, Wear Me Out features guest musicians, each providing a unique flavour to the songs, elevating them to new heights. Jessie Robertson (Low Spin/Dating Myself) created thick, groovy bass lines that anchored the tracks while Swann Barrat lent a hand by co-producing and layering synth lines and specifically beat-boxing on the title track. Shawn Penner (Mother Mother, Hannah Georgas) co-produced and mixed the EP at District 4 Studios, giving it a dynamic punch that pierces through to the very last note.
